The students, teachers, administrators, support staff and parents have formed an alliance with the community to focus on the self worth of each student at Gateway Academy. We are committed to prepare students for complete success by providing them with a flexible, self-paced and student centered learning environment. We are committed to empowering students to become successful citizens who are motivated to improve society.

Curriculum Design and Core Teaching Methods
Gateway Academy's curriculum is based on the American Preparatory Institute (API) system. The currriculum is designed for individual or small gropus and offers many advantages for the students and faculty. It provides an instructional system that is in a modular fromat, mastery-based and non-calendar driven. This format allows for modification of instructional materials as may be required for a student's individualized instruction, to include students that are in special programs such as Special Education or Limited English Proficient. These varied instructional approaches and methods provide students with a vaariety of experiences, learning methods and styles.

Distinctive Features of the School
Gateway Academy offers its students an opportunity to accumulate credits through its self-paced curriculum. It also enables students at attend school either during the morning shift of an afternoon shift. Teachers, staff and administration create a positive learning enviroment and maintain an open door policy for all students.
